MuralLove: ALMA

ALMA (Apprenticeships for Leaders in Mosaic Arts) provides mentorship and training to youth through our apprenticeship model, creates world-class handmade tile mosaic artworks, and provides opportunities for the community to engage with the mosaic process. We also create large scale ceramic tile and painted murals. We work with a group of youth for every mural. We go through every step of the process with our “apprentices,” making sure they have input in the work. Our work often references natural elements and peoples from New Mexico that we research in depth. We are collaborating with a local charter High School to work with a group of the students there to be apart of the project.
We truly enjoy the collaborative process of creating a large scale public art alongside youth from the community.
