Hand-drawn maps and illustrations are the focus of my work. I have called Albuquerque home for the past five years after making my mark in Los Angeles for more than 20 years as a visual effects artist and designer on award-winning television shows and motion pictures ranging from the animated Ren & Stimpy Show to The Dark Knight.
I am a self-taught artist and studied filmmaking at Massachusetts College of Art. I found much inspiration and encouragement from my father, Derek Lamb, who was an award-winning artist and animator.
In my Albuquerque studio, I create hand-drawn maps and illustrations for clients around the world. Designs include custom/personal maps, special event/festival maps, large-format murals, maps and home illustrations for various realtors, and map areas ranging from small towns to cities and states.
Depending on the project, I draw on illustration board using pencils and black ink pen or directly in Photoshop. Either way, all of my designs are saved as hi-resolution digital files and can be printed to meet any size specifications.
Each of my pieces brings art as well as a sense of place to the surrounding environment because I depict the neighborhoods and cities and houses that provide us with a feeling of belonging.
