hello, there, I am from Texas originally, but moved here after the death of my brother. I’ve worked as a fiber artist and painter for the past 10 years, but have been committed to my work since 2015. In th East year I was featured by my local PBS Creative Station, which was a great experience. You can also catch me on my instragam were I put most of my work (agave_fiber). I work 40- hours a week as a qualitative researcher, but I when I am done- I weave, paint, and paint on my weavings. I constructed a hand loom in my 3rd bedroom from wood from home-depot, which I use to construct large scale weavings, which are my favorite.
I have always had the propensity for working large scale. My favorite work right now is hand-looming and painting on my loomed fabric. I would love to say that on my mural, I would depict the needs of the city, but really, I would depict me. Who, from my 3rd story apartment sees the mountains that my brother ashes were placed upon. I want to leave a mark here. For me really, but also partially for my brother.
