I’m an artist and designer based in Santa Fe. I’ve been active in both the art and design communities in New Mexico and beyond for the past 20 years or so, maintaining both a personal and professional practice. My work has recently been comprised of intricate psychedelic-influenced drawings that blend traditional drawing with digital techniques. I employ a process akin to doodling, where I intentionally suspend any awareness of where a drawing will wind up in favor of an open exploration of form. I then capture the forms digitally and composite them into something recognizable, grouping the forms into some sort of container to give them structure and helping the compositions work on both a macro and micro level. The end result is a maximalist expression of color and shape with lots of delightful details for a wandering eye to pick out. Any mural I work on would be comprised of the same sort of process except I’d be working within the boundaries of a given space as opposed to the boundaries of a page.
