My name is Rachel Taylor and I am a painter working in Albuquerque, NM. Influenced by systems within the physical environment, memory, imagination, and internal experience, I am interested in how the mechanical and emotional become intertwined in seductive ways. Within my process, I explore the relationship between varying marks on a surface while placing value on the link between the image and the human hand.
I believe murals are an effective way to inspire community and public engagement. I am interested in expanding my painting practice into public art in order to participate in this conversation. Art has the potential to make public spaces more approachable and influence how we connect with a place.
