Greetings! My name is Chelsea Wrightson. I am from Albuquerque, NM and went to UNM for fine art/printmaking. I would first like to acknowledge that this land does not belong to me but I am humbly making the request to add to its beauty. I believe that art is for everyone and I am captivated by our public art program because it serves our entire community. I have recently been working with the idea of creating symbolic energy containers. Much like meeting new people and traveling to a new environment, art has the ability to exchange energy. I create positive energy in my life by making art and my hope is that positive energy transfers to a person engaging with my work. When making work, I think about all the moments that make me feel present and alive. I think of walking through the Bosque and seeing flocks of cranes and Canada geese migrating overhead. I think of big sky sunsets bouncing off tangerine clouds to the west and pink watermelon mountains to the east. I think of the sound of cicadas in the summertime and the smell of roasted green chile in the fall. I would like to create a mural for Albuquerque that gives back to the energy this place has given me. Thank you for your time!
I have exhibited work in Albuquerque, NM and New York, NY. I have created some Mock-Up mural proposals for your consideration. Please visit my website chelseawrightson.com for more information.
